At just 21 years old, Trey Knepp is making waves in the country music community. His single “Small Town Somewhere USA”, scheduled for re-release December 1st, is a nostalgic throwback to a simpler past. His gritty, raw vocals give us an insight into the creative processes of a young man dedicated to painting images of red-blood country on a canvas made of notes.
Born in a small town himself in Loogootee, Indiana, Trey's musical journey began watching his older cousins play which inspired him to make music his creative outlet. Stumbling upon an old guitar in his grandfather’s basement, he knew that this instrument would be the key to open some weathered screen doors to a musical future. Trey was intrigued by bluegrass and taught himself to play guitar at only 14. As he grew older, he realized that his love for icons like Lonesome River Band and Bill Emerson had transformed.
He began to transition to a more modern sound with influences from artists such as Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Jason Aldean. But the sounds of his youth can still be heard, not only in his music but ingrained into his unique vocal and instrumental style of today. His natural talent and artistic ability are made evident in his music and leaves the listeners wanting more. To date, he has written several songs, including the two on his upcoming EP, and has been featured on WISH TV, Indianapolis. Trey has his eyes on the prize with a 2023 tour through the mid-west to Texas as well as an east coast path through the Carolinas and Georgia.
